REGISTRATION ON INAC AND MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY
To register children who are entitled on the INAC membership registry, a birth document stating parent(s) name is required. Children must be registered to be eligible for medical coverage and non-insured health benefits through Health Canada Medical Services.
For registration purposes, we were previously able to obtain a copy of a birth extract that stated parent(s) names for most aboriginal children born in B.C. Indian & Northern Affairs Canada has now advised that the contract they had with B.C. Vital Statistics to obtain the birth extracts had not been renewed. We are unable to obtain birth extracts for any births after July 2005.
Parents must submit the child’s large form birth certificate, that states the parent’s names, for Band Registration.

If you want your child registered the fee for birth certificates is $27.00. You can make an application at your local BC Access Centre. A copy of this form can be found in the Forms & Applications section of this website.

Contact the Band Registry for your band to register your newbord on the band list.
BABY REGISTRATION FORM FOR MSP
Mail in your application (included in package provided by the hospital) right away in order to receive a CareCard for your newborn. This must be done before your child is three months of age. If you submit the application after three months, you will have to attach a copy of your child’s birth certificate. Please note that the hospital and doctor’s office will need your baby’s CareCard number as soon as possible to process bill payments. Without a CareCard you will be subject to paying upfront for any medication and/or services.
