Once a year, the Gitanmaax Band holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) to present audited financial reports regarding band programs and services. The Chief and Council will also provide a Governance Update; which will include many items such as, Policy Reviews and Revisions, Community Protection Bylaw, Community Engagements, to Gitanmaax On and Off-Reserve Services.
At the AGM, there will be updates on Band Programs and Services. As always Band members will hear from our Education department, Social Development, Child Welfare, Capital Projects and Housing, Band Membership, Economic Development and the Gitanmaax Lands Department. The Gitanmaax Health & Wellness Centre will also report on their programs and services.
All registered Gitanmaax Band Members are authorized to attend this meeting. It is planned to provide “live streaming (Zoom)” for out-of-town members. It is important to Chief and Council to hear from the Gitanmaax Band membership to provide collective guidance to your elected leadership. Chief and Council wants to ensure that all members have a chance to express their concerns and ideas.
