Gitanmaax, BC — Gitanmaax Band is proud to announce the appointment of Nathan Combs as the new Full-Time Fire Chief.

Gitanmaax and the Village of Hazelton are served by a combined volunteer fire department, which Nathan will lead as Fire Chief. In this role, he will also oversee the coordination of emergency services for Gitanmaax and Hazelton, working closely with the Province of British Columbia, the Regional District, and nearby First Nation bands and municipal governments to support effective and collaborative emergency response.

His background includes nine years in wildland firefighting with the Hazelton Rainmakers Unit Crew and five years of local service as Volunteer Fire Chief. Throughout his career, Nathan has demonstrated a strong commitment to community safety, firefighter support, and fire prevention.

His leadership and dedication have made a meaningful impact across Gitanmaax and Hazelton, and we are confident that he will continue to strengthen emergency services in his new role.
